Zhusan Luo, Lead Rotordynamics Engineer
Turbomachinery Department, Praxair, Inc., a Linde Company
This presentation starts with a brief introduction of typical turbomachinery and common vibration issues and failures, followed by rotordynamic design considerations and criteria. A quick review of fundamentals of rotordynamics and analysis procedure will be presented, including the modeling of a rotor-bearing system, bearing stiffness and damping, undamped critical speed map, damped modes, stability and unbalance response. To demonstrate how to use this analytical tool to address lateral vibration issues, an investigation into a turbo-expander subsynchronous vibration will be discussed.
Dinner: Pizza & Wings will be served for dinner. Cash bar will be available during the event.
Cost: $20- Members, $25 Non-Members, $15 Students.
