Seminar 3: Using OPC UA to Simplify Automation Systems

11:00 AM – 11:45 PM, 1 PDH available.

Topic: As the demand for device and data visibility increases across diverse platforms and locations, organizations will be faced with deployment, management, performance, and security challenges. For companies to move towards the promise of Industry 4.0, they need interoperability between hardware, software, and services to increase profits and productivity. OPC UA, a cross-platform, business-optimized Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), overcomes these connectivity gaps by consolidating data from various sources and transferring that data securely, reliability, and with higher performance. This allows seamless integration of multiple platforms without excessive costs and software development. During this session attendees will learn how: Communications before OPC Origin of OPC Foundation Why next Generation OPC: OPC UA OPC UA can unify your processes OPC UA makes it easier to securely share, collect, and present information Customers have successfully implemented OPC UA

Speaker: Matt Bernhard, solution Architect for Automatec and Brent Dube, Senior Applications Engineer for KepWare

Seminar 4: Digital Transformation and IIOT

12:00 PM – 1:00 PM, 1 PDH Available

Topic: Manufacturing in all industries is being challenged to improve plant performance. Being a top performer ensures a facility’s viability and provides a greater return to all stake holders. The key to improved performance lies in the ability to understand what is happening on the plant floor. Smart instrumentation provides insight into the plant’s process and asset health, and advanced analytics provides the information to improve the plant’s operations, reliability, and safety. This discussion will focus on how to leverage the information provided by the plant infrastructure and analytics to improve work processes leading to improved plant performance.

Speaker: Barry Coultas – Digital Transformation Solutions Manager at Emerson
